Louisiana Irises are very easy to grow. They are not very demanding and make amazing blooms. It is important to plant irises where they will receive six or more hours of direct sun daily. Iris bloom in the spring. Sites that tend to be damp are ideal because they won’t need watering as often, but almost any sunny spot will do. There is a great diversity of colors in this group. They thrive in ditches, bogs, along pond edges, or in garden beds that stay moist and fertile. The striking vertical leaves of this herbaceous perennial makes it a welcome addition to any garden bed.
